Hi all! This first blog is demonstrating my senior short at my DAC (Digital Animation Center) Program at University of Colorado Denver. I will be working on a senior thesis project with my colleagues. This senior thesis project will be a short animation film called "Huli Jing."

On the first day of production, my class and I did a workshop. We learned about how we will prepare for team success.

  • Setting Expectations

    • What needs to be done?

    • When does this need to be completed?

  • Setting Team Culture

    • Give your best effort

    • Lead by your example

    • Own your mistakes

    • Welcome feedback

  • Tracking team performances

    • Track work progress

    • Document and track prones

    • Make the status of deliverable clear

  • Enforce team expectations

    • Give the gift of time

    • Show how much flexibility

  • Recognize you team accomplishment

    • Provide professional development

    • Design job title

This helps me understand on what it would be like to work in a "real-world" production. Teamwork seems really intense and a huge responsibility. Since I have not yet graduate with a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree yet, this can help me gain experience before I start my new career.

As I am part of the Huli Jing group, I have watched the storyboards that was created from my colleagues. The story was very touching. For right now, I have not yet started any 3D models yet. I would like to discuss with my group about what we like and want to do for this senior thesis. Since this is my first blog, this is my first day working on this senior thesis project.
